At 24 I decided to go vegan and that instantly kind of like shifted a lot of different things. That year I was All-Star for the first time, that I think that had a correlation.

Brown is right, to say the least. The star’s career had a significant improvement since 2021 season as the team made it to the NBA finals the very next year. Despite losing, Brown’s career only started rising as he signed a supermax contract with the Celtics in 2023. In the end, the star was also able to win the championship.

Jaylen Brown performs in playoffs during the observance of Ramadan

Multiple players in the league follow the plant-based diet including Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving. However, Irving and Brown both also fast during Ramadan in the middle of playoffs. Back in 2018, while visiting MIT, Brown revealed that he fasted in the 2017 playoffs, but the reason was revealed later.

In the interview with KT The Arch Degree, Brown also opened up about the difference Ramadan’s fast makes in the body. Brown stated that fasting has impacted his mental health but more importantly it helps him connect with the ‘creator’. Brown then talked about the physical aspect.

When there’s nothing in your system your body can use that energy to go through so many different things, like to heal yourself, to make yourself have a little more clarity, or just your body starts to function in different ways when you have the energy to do so.

With fasting, Brown also discussed his pool workouts for even more improvement in the physicality. Despite being at the best of his career, it seems like Brown still wants more. It is safe to say that the success the forward has had in the last three years did not come easily considering the work Brown puts in.
